Welcome to my new art studio blog!...Amazingly, nearly a full year has already rolled around since my big move north to the sunny climes of my new semi rural country life in the upper south.
Many people who know me, know that before this move north at the end of last year, I held a very profound and deeply rich creative vision for my future life here, especially with the advantage of a much longed for dedicated creative space in my fabulous new studio space nestled in the retreat like abode where I now live - an area abundantly alive with many diverse and creative artists and craftspeople.
This blog is the beginning of that vision!
My new art based studio is housed in a single garage located down a white pebbled pathway several metres away from the main house and sits amongst trees and verdantly green pastures complete with silently grazing sheep and a number of large munching black cows who graze in green paddocks just over the street and is surrounded by rolling hills of green.
My hope is that in time as I further nurture my creative vision more and more that it will become a hub of ardent creative endevour enabling me to develop my studio practice further and even one day make an income from my creativity! This blog will document some of that journey.
For a while I had been contemplating a name for my studio and the business I intend to slowly grow here creating and selling my work, and a number of months ago the words 'The Spotted Rabbit' kept sneaking up into my awareness.
I thought this would be a special name in memory of my much cherished bunny 'Lily-Snow', one of my much loved - and spotted - furry friends who died in July 2016, just before my big move north at the end of last year. In the years prior to her death I also lost two of my other beloved bunnies 'Basil' and 'Rupert', so the name 'The Spotted Rabbit' for my studio very much envelops the spirit of both 'Basil' and 'Rupert' also and their hugely cherished presence in my life.
I'm afraid I wont ever be a daily blogger having a rather love/hate relationship with technology and having to be mindful about how much time I spend on it, but I will en-devour to be semi regular in my postings as I creatively journey along posting as I am able. This may be at more regular intervals some weeks and less others.
And, I have to admit writing is not really my strong point, along with things like good grammar and punctuation; however attempts to express myself via this medium have always felt important to me persoanlly in one way or another, hence beginning this studio and art blog here, in an endeavor to share aspects of my life with those who have been an important part of my lifes journey.
At this stage I am also only largely sharing this blog address with people who know me, so I am not really wanting my blog to be shared more widely (other than the odd person who may stumble across it through blogspot) or on social media. At a future stage I will be developing other online sharing platforms then for this. However I am happy for my blog address to be shared with others who do know me if you think they might enjoy seeing it and how I am journeying creatively.
Thank you kindly.
